Lasting Change
The Gadsden Purchase may have been a small purchase of land but it was the last change to our southern borders. Not only that but resolved some tension between Mexico and America as lands were disputed and there were less Native American attacks in Mexico.

It also led to the Southern Transcontinental Railroad. This let there be a route from the south to the west, a way to follow manifest destiny. To learn more click here.

In a newspaper by the New York Herald, they said that the Gadsden Purchase would be a key for the gold mine rush as southern miners now have access to the west.
